When you're choosing a new door, looks and thermal efficiency matter, but above all, a door is the main barrier between your home and the outside world. Here are the three security features that matter most, and that come with our doors.
First, the multi-point locking system. Unlike a traditional single latch, a multi-point system secures the door to the frame at several points simultaneously, top, middle and bottom, when you lift the handle and turn the key. Forcing one point isn't enough; the door holds as a complete system.
Second, PAS24 accreditation. PAS24:2016 is the British security standard for doors, and earning it means a door design has survived standardised physical attack testing, not marketing claims, but a door that's been genuinely tried and couldn't be beaten.
Third, the construction itself. Locks are only as strong as what surrounds them. Solid cores, reinforced frames and toughened glazing mean there's no weak point for an intruder to exploit, which is why our composite doors, with their solid timber cores, feel so reassuringly substantial.
